Well this was a Lake District Wedding Photographer assignment with a difference. This was probably the most challenging photographic assignment I have had. First of all I have never taken photographs of babies before and most of all trying to photograph newly born twins is just not easy! Feel free to comment whether you like the results or not. Both Dane and Katy were kept fully occupied in keeping the youngsters happy. As they were premature they are effectively one week old and are not yet able to hold their heads up on their own. Of course the inevitable happened and soon as Katy took the nappies off my backdrop cloth was anointed! The skin colour of the babies is totally different and attempting to get both settled at the same time proved a little difficult. One thing we all learnt was that we need to turn the heating up! Our plan is to photograph every four months or so and chart the changing nature and progression of both children. In the meantime my best wishes go to Dane and Katy, they have their hands full!

Dane & Katy Baby Twins
Friday, November 19th, 2010David & Rachel Pre Lake District Wedding Photography
Thursday, November 11th, 2010A fantastic Lake District Wedding Photography photoshoot with a real fun couple. Well actually this is pre-wedding photography eight years after David and Rachel got married but like many couples out there did not have any pre wedding photography done. So after knowing one another for many years we decided we would put that right! We had a great afternoon together starting out in Kendal and ending up in Stavely. Of course I should not forget to mention Milo who came along for the ride and took centre stage on some of the photographs as well as taking over the drivers seat in my car! If you live in the Kendal area you can visit Rachel at The Studio near M&S where she practices her art as a Beautician. Whilst Rachel was up for it from the start David needed a little bit of convincing but as you can see got completely into the swing of it! I have a very busy month ahead with photoshoots of new baby twins, an expectant Mum, a Wedding and a Wedding Model shoot so keep looking for new photographs. I am still taking bookings for 2011 so please contact me for a quote.
Ricci & Penelope Lake District Pre Wedding Photography
Monday, November 1st, 2010Another Lake District Pre Wedding Assignment and what a fantastic Autumn day in the Lake District it turned out to be – a perfect time to have your pre wedding photographs taken. Ricci & Penelope are due to get married next June at the Inn On The Lake and it promises to be a great day. They have booked the old Steamer on Ullswater and are on the look out for a Choir. Although they live over in Yorkshire they opted to travel across to The Lakes to get these photographs taken. And although it had been raining heavily the day before it cleared nicely for the morning of the photoshoot. Of course I had to get them wet – it is the Lakes after all! Penelope’s Mum has four daughters and this will be the second to be married off. I have to say I feel sorry for Steve, having four daughters wedding to pay for! Keep working Steve, you may be able to retire by the time you are 80!

In our Blog you will find Wedding, Portrait, Commercial, Family and some oddball Photography. We have been asked several times to define our style of Wedding photography and of course there is a whole host of words out there to describe photographic styles, photojournalism, reportage, traditional, documentary, fine art and the list goes on. We have come to realise that our (Ruth and I work together) style is based primarily around intimate images. We do all the other schtuff mentioned before but a common theme that runs through our work is 'intimacy'. The wedding is about the couple and the rest of us are there to observe. But ultimately it is about the love that the couple have for each other. That is what we seek to represent in the photographs we produce. You are the best judge of whether we succeed.
