Steve & Lorraine chose the best day of the week for their Cumbria Wedding Photographer, Me!, to go out and about with them for their pre wedding photographs. We set off quite early for this photoshoot and stopped first by the side of Lake Windermere up near Ambleside. The sun was just beginning to climb into the sky so it cast some very gentle light across our chosen location. As Steve and Lorraine were relaxing against the tree we were all surprised to hear a great ‘whooshing’ noise and then two swans appeared treading water as they started their lift off. Very romantic. We then drove round to Wray Castle, and the scenery in the background as you will see on the photographs, was absolutely stunning. It was turning out to be a perfect day so when they get married in May we are all hoping for the same again.
From this pre wedding shoot we have asked Steve and Lorraine to choose one photograph for the Signature Board which I think is going to be a pretty hard task. As usual I took far too many photographs and managed to cut it down to 224 that I presented them with. They have to agree on one! Nightmare!! Anyway I wish them the best with that. I have some very interesting photoshoots coming up this month so keep watching for updates on the Schtuff Blog. On Saturday I am due to take some more pre wedding photography in Morecambe around the Midland Hotel and on the beach so we are watching the weather very closely to see what happens. I recently returned from a photoshoot in Argyle and have already posted some of the results on the Schtuff Blog and on my Lake District Wedding Photographer page on Facebook. Have a look if you have not already seen them.

In our Blog you will find Wedding, Portrait, Commercial, Family and some oddball Photography. We have been asked several times to define our style of Wedding photography and of course there is a whole host of words out there to describe photographic styles, photojournalism, reportage, traditional, documentary, fine art and the list goes on. We have come to realise that our (Ruth and I work together) style is based primarily around intimate images. We do all the other schtuff mentioned before but a common theme that runs through our work is 'intimacy'. The wedding is about the couple and the rest of us are there to observe. But ultimately it is about the love that the couple have for each other. That is what we seek to represent in the photographs we produce. You are the best judge of whether we succeed.
