Saturday dawned and the rain clouds rolled in as this Cumbria Wedding Photographer set off at 8:30am to meet up with Ricci and his best man Seb at the B & B they were staying at, Lakeland View in Keswick. Julie and Les had been looking after them both and warned us that Ricci and Seb were running late due to a generous intake of Jack Daniels the night before. The guys were really struggling with their cravats when we left them at 10:30am to head off to meet up with Penelope, Mum and Dad, Sisters, Grand Children, Page Boys, Ushers and whoever else was with them at the house they were staying in at Ullswater. Pandemonium when we arrived! Anyway they all managed to sort themselves out and we watched hopefully for a break in the rain clouds. The staff at The Inn On The Lake were, as usual, fantastic. They had prepared both indoor and outdoor facilities for the Ceremony so nothing would stand in the way of the Wedding going ahead.
As a Kendal Wedding Photographer it is of course not unusual to face heavy downpours but you always wish for a bright day. Just as the Ceremony was due to start the rain stopped and a little blue sky appeared, long enough to make a decision to go outside. As the Ceremony came to a conclusion the heavens opened once more, coats went on, umbrellas were raised and everyone made a dash for the Bar! An hour later and the rain stopped long enough to take all the formal family photographs and one or two more intimate ones of Ricci and Penelope. As so often the case with adverse weather everyone made the most of it and all were in high spirits until we packed up our cameras and lights and headed back home for 10:00pm. A great day which we thoroughly enjoyed and a lovely family to work for.

In our Blog you will find Wedding, Portrait, Commercial, Family and some oddball Photography. We have been asked several times to define our style of Wedding photography and of course there is a whole host of words out there to describe photographic styles, photojournalism, reportage, traditional, documentary, fine art and the list goes on. We have come to realise that our (Ruth and I work together) style is based primarily around intimate images. We do all the other schtuff mentioned before but a common theme that runs through our work is 'intimacy'. The wedding is about the couple and the rest of us are there to observe. But ultimately it is about the love that the couple have for each other. That is what we seek to represent in the photographs we produce. You are the best judge of whether we succeed.
