Schtuff Photography with Joel, Brody and Robyn

Monday, May 14th, 2012

I don’t particularly consider myself a photographer of children but I am happy to oblige when asked!  They say that practice makes you better anyway.  So I met up with Katy and her three children on the same day we were shooting a Cherish The Dress session with Anna and a Lifestyle shoot with Amy.  A busy day!  I was expecting it to present some challenges, with having a small baby sandwiched between two active kids, but they were all amazingly easy to work with and I think we managed quite well.  Having had three girls of our own we probably know more about getting the best out of reluctant children than we realise.  Anyway Joel, Brody and Robyn were far from reluctant and happy to join in.

Dane & Katy’s Baby Photography by Cumbria Wedding Photographer

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

I have to confess that the most challenging photography for me is Baby photography.  For someone more used to capturing cumbria wedding photography attempting to photograph a little one, to whom you cannot give any direction, is challenging indeed.  Trying to accomplish that with twins is a bit mind blowing!  Whether I have done them justice is not really for me to decide.  I think Mum and Dad and those of you who follow or find this Blog are probably better placed to make that judgement.  So as a Kendal Wedding Photographer I present a few images which you can make up your own mind about.  I suspect photographing babies is much easier in the fixed environment of a Studio where you can control the setting far easier than in a home.  The upside though is that experience makes one better at the assignment so all I can say is keep those babies coming!

We are really looking forward this week to the wedding of Ricci and Penelope on Saturday at The Inn On The Lake in Ullswater.  For those who have never been there it is a beautiful location with great opportunities for wedding photography.  Ricci and Penelope have also booked an Ullswater Steamer to take the wedding party out on to the Lake in the evening so it promises to be a great day.

Many thanks to all those who stopped to say hello at our Cumbria Wedding Photography exhibition this last weekend at Westmorland Shopping Centre.  It was a pleasure to meet you all and share some of your plans for the future.

Evangeline Child Photography by Lake District Wedding Photographer

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Well first of all many thanks to those who visited the Stonecross Manor Hotel Wedding Fair and especially to those who booked me for their wedding day.  The response to the Schtuff Photography offer was fantastic and it was clear that putting together a package like that was well worthwhile to all parties.  It is also clear that many more couples are now planning much further ahead with enquiries for 2013 and beyond not uncommon.  The recession is clearly effecting couples budgets so if you cannot find a standard package that suits your budget for wedding photography give me a call and we can talk it through.

Evangeline and her Mum came in to see me at the Barton Grange garden Centre Schtuff Photography exhibition a couple of weeks ago and we had a great time capturing these photographs for them.  For those who have a technical interest I use Nikon’s Creative Lighting system with a Nikon Commander unit and four speedlights for these kind of events as they are so portable.  This Saturday I have a lifestyle shoot and on Monday a Pre Wedding shoot at the Midland Hotel in Morecambe and still plenty of enquiries coming in each week.  I hope you enjoy the photos!
