Joe and Fiona were married at Kendal Parish Church late Saturday afternoon and then went on to The Castle Green Hotel for the reception. The forecast for Saturday was rain, something we have had a lot of recently in The Lake District, however it managed to hold off until 8:30pm which allowed us to get the majority of photographs for Joe and Fiona taken. I should also mention their adorable young man, Jamie, only fifteen months old and who managed to steal the show on occasion. The Best Man, Dave, let it slip during his speech that the boys had enjoyed a (few) wee drams of a very special BruichLaddich the night before, hence the photograph of the casket – I believe the bottle inside was empty! Many thanks to them both for letting me be part of the day.

In our Blog you will find Wedding, Portrait, Commercial, Family and some oddball Photography. We have been asked several times to define our style of Wedding photography and of course there is a whole host of words out there to describe photographic styles, photojournalism, reportage, traditional, documentary, fine art and the list goes on. We have come to realise that our (Ruth and I work together) style is based primarily around intimate images. We do all the other schtuff mentioned before but a common theme that runs through our work is 'intimacy'. The wedding is about the couple and the rest of us are there to observe. But ultimately it is about the love that the couple have for each other. That is what we seek to represent in the photographs we produce. You are the best judge of whether we succeed.
