Shelley has not got long to go, around 3 weeks at the time of writing. Sometimes it can be a little bit daunting for a Mum To Be to get in front of a camera but it didn’t take Shelley long to get into the spirit of it. Shelley’s Mum and Dad own MGD Commercial and Motor Services in Kendal, Cumbria so for those of you who are local to the area there can be no better place to get your motor serviced, at least that’s what Mark has told me! Jane, Shelley’s Mum, is not a fan of having her photograph taken but Mark (Jane’s Husband) said she looked absolutely fantastic. He’s so smooth with the chat.
So for a Cumbria Wedding Photographer this was a little bit different. I set up my mobile studio in Mum’s house so that everyone would be comfortable and we shot a nice little portfolio that Shelley will be able to look back on in years to come and remember the first of what she tells me will be many – well she didn’t say that but her Mum is hoping!

In our Blog you will find Wedding, Portrait, Commercial, Family and some oddball Photography. We have been asked several times to define our style of Wedding photography and of course there is a whole host of words out there to describe photographic styles, photojournalism, reportage, traditional, documentary, fine art and the list goes on. We have come to realise that our (Ruth and I work together) style is based primarily around intimate images. We do all the other schtuff mentioned before but a common theme that runs through our work is 'intimacy'. The wedding is about the couple and the rest of us are there to observe. But ultimately it is about the love that the couple have for each other. That is what we seek to represent in the photographs we produce. You are the best judge of whether we succeed.
