Kendal Portrait Photographer with Maddison Lifestyle Photoshoot

Monday, June 11th, 2012

We went out with Maddison last Saturday into the back streets of Kendal to record some images as she has entered the ‘terrible teens’ part of her life.  She was a dream to work with, needing very little input from ourselves and being very happy to just get on with it.  We photographed her Mum and Dad, Ian and Lisa, some time back for their Wedding Anniversary so the family is quite well known to us.  We had been intending to use the backdrops of some of these streets for quite a while, so this booking proved an ideal opportunity to explore the possibilities.  Well in the end there were too many photographs to put into one Blog post so watch out for a part 2 at some point!

Just a reminder that if you have come to this Blog looking for Wedding Photography you may want to switch to our dedicated Wedding website at www.schtuff.com.

Cumbria Wedding Photography and Pre Wedding Shoots

Friday, February 10th, 2012

I should have been on a pre wedding photoshoot this afternoon down at Williamson Park in Lancaster with Lorna and Gareth, but we decided to postpone for a couple of weeks in the hope that we get some better weather.  The sky is a blanket of grey, which for a pre wedding shoot spoils the overall look of the photographs.  Lorna and Gareth are due to get married in December so we still have plenty of time to get the right shoot for them.  On Tuesday this week Ruth and I photographed the wedding of Joe and Angela at The Belsfield Hotel in Bowness Cumbria and that was a beautiful day to get married. The sun was out, the sky was really interesting and the rooms in the venue were super for wedding photography.  If you want to see some of the results you can go to our dedicated Wedding website at http://www.schtuff.com.  On Monday I have another Lifestyle Model Portfolio to shoot with Tori so really looking forward to that, it doesn’t matter so much what the weather is like as most of the shoot will be on an ‘urban’ theme.  In the meantime here are some more photos from the shoot a couple of weeks ago with the beautiful Charlotte.  This final set have all been treated with a ‘vintage’ wash so hope you like them.

Mintfest in Kendal Town

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

For those of you who may not have heard of Mintfest it is an annual event run throughout the town of Kendal including lots of street shows which feature music, dancing, comedy, magic and any number of weird and wacky performers!  These included Taffy Thomas the Storyteller, Bad Taste Cru, Joe Sature & Ses Joyeux Osselets amongst many others who travel from far flung places to take part.  Most of it is free with minimal payment required by those who charge so if you haven’t seen it put it in your diary for next year. It is usually held in early September and is a real treat for youngsters and oldsters alike.  This year we managed to get there on Friday night and Sunday afternoon.  Here are some images from our visits.  Whilst it is a little different from my normal photography I just thought it made an interesting change.  If you have come to this Blog looking for Wedding Photography please go over to the right on the screen and under categories you will find wedding photography, or just keep scrolling down!
